I'm getting the there appears to be a problem message. Can you battle an ORAS cart from X?

You can but it is restricted. You can't use ORAS megas or ORAS only items.

For a recap Justin mostly brought his last team and I brought a Lickilicky, Aegislash, Gardevoir, and a Greninja
Turn 1 I decided for a shock Justin with an Lickilicky Explosion STAB Choice Band, which brought his Milotic into the Yellow and his Kang into the red which was about an even tradeoff.
From there my Greninja managed to get Kang and did half health to a Togekiss but died to Milotic
Then my Gardevoir took care of Togekiss but got T-Waved in the process so it came down to a full-health Garchomp vs my half-health Gardevoir and Aegislash. While Aegislash's Shadow Sneak took about 1/3 of his damage unfortunately he 1 hit my Gardevoir with an Iron Head. If my Gardevoir wasn't Paralyzed I would've won this one with a Dazzling Gleam. On the next turn I Kings Shielded which just bought time. I went for a Sacred Sword thinking the Garchomp might not have been trained in Speed but honestly I think that was stupid considering I could've just went for Shadow Sneak and won if it crit. Anyways Justin won with an EQ.
Also, when I Ice Beam'd that Togekiss to half health it Froze but thawed out THE SAME TURN. Probably would've won if that didn't happen.
