Are trick room teams common in SUMO? - Noodles - Mar 28, 2017

Im wondering on what my next team should be for the next international chanllenge team. Im having a tough time on deciding to do a anti trick room team or doing a trick room team.Im asking if trick room teams are very common in the game so I can go with a anti trick room team.

Given how trick room is arguably the most common speed control method in VGC 17, you can try to make a semi Trick Room mode with Araquanid, Gigalith, Torkoal, Mudsdale and Snorlax paired with a setter such as Porygon2 or Mimikyu. As you notice, most of these Pokemon are actually weak to Kartana and is relatively fast with the right coverage STABs to hit almost everyone of these mons for super effective. If you do plan to shut down Trick Room, having Pokemon who are generally fast like Kartana and maybe a fast Anti-TR option like Taunt Koko, Roar Arcanine, or even a Z-move user can stop them at times. If the team doesn't have any of these modes, your best method to is to have relatively bulky Pokemon who can withstand many of said hits while retaliate hard in turn like Fini, Celesteela, Gigalith, Snorlax, etc.
