I am currently looking at my favorite Pokemon, Grumpig for the VGC format.

Not only is Bisharp faster and able to OHKO, Grumpig can do almost nothing to it even if you attack it on a switch-in. Focus Blast does OHKO Bisharp, but its accuracy is really unreliable.

You might also run into some other problems.

Grumpig is too slow, and these Pokemon can wall it. That being said, if you allocate your EV's differently, you may find a set that works. Just keep trying!

I can't counter everything, but I can partner it with others. I've made 3 sets and will be doing 50 battles each, taking notes of its counters and notable partners. Thanks for the calcs, it'll help knowing what to watch for! And I just created a counter to Bisharp, Garchomp and Salamence (if I can OHKO a mega Salamence with HP Ice, Garchomp won't take it nicely either).
