Honestly i didn't think Gastrodon would have made an impact in VGC17 without access to Earth Power. I still remember the VGC15 Expert Belt set and it was incredibly strong and fun to play with, however now we have seen Gastrodon being played with defensive Toxic sets which combined with the cheap damage of Leech Seed from Celesteela are really dangerous. I wouldn't be surprised to see some randoms Energy Balls on strong Special Attackers to get surprise OHKOs on Gastrodon, which don't often run Protect (because Recover is a solid option too). Not sure if Earthquake is even worth it, the damage is underwhelming.
This team is sooo bulky and the synergy is great, i like it a lot.
Question: do you have reports of teams already running 28-36 Speed EVs on Celesteela or is 44 EVs something you have tried to guess to make sure you are faster for mirrors? It feels like the old SubAegislash speed war haha.
