[S/M] Masuda Squirtle in Sun/Moon

Hey all, 
Quick question. As the title says, is it possible to Masuda a shiny squirtle in sun and moon?
The fact of no national dex is what makes me doubt. I'm hatching eggs, and I just want to confirm that it isn't all for not.

Even though there's no national dex, the Masuda method still works.

So u know pokebank updated when sun and moon came out an has an updated nat Dex that u can deposit Ur pokemon from sun an moon  to Complete Ur nat Dex... An I haven't had any luck hatching shiny eggs... Musta hatched 500 chimchars an still no shiny lol... But did get a shiny smeargel first sos chain at 55 pokemon...
