Aegislash @ Weakness Policy
Ability: Stance Change
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD
Quiet Nature
- Shadow Ball
- Flash Cannon
- Wide Guard
- King's Shield
This set focuses on Special Attacking unlike his Physical Attacking Variant, Shadow Ball and Flash Cannon don't have much coverage types wise but it still has a change to 2HKO most Pokemon. Wide Guard is an amazing move allowing you to protect yourself and allies from moves that hit more than one opponent especially moves such as Heat Wave and Earthquake. Finally King's Shield is Aegislash's signature move allowing his to protect himself from attacking Moves (Status Moves still hit) and if the move Aegislash is protect from is a Physical Move then the opponent's attack will drop. The item Weakness Policy allows Aegislash to get an Attack and Special Attack boost once hit with super effective attacks, this is good for aegislash because it usually survives most attacks. The EV spread given to Aegislash is a generic one allowing him to take less damage and hit hard.

EVs: 252 HP / 100 SpA / 156 SpD
Quiet Nature
- King's Shield
- Substitute / Wide Guard / Shadow Sneak
- Shadow Ball
- Flash Cannon / Sacred Sword / Shadow Sneak
This set includes physical moves that may better meet your teams needs and cover a wider range of types. Sacred Sword can be used to deal with threats like Bisharp. Shadow Sneak can be used to finish of Pokemon that survive with low HP. Another new move is Substitute, this will allow you to protect yourself from some hits, plus combined with King's Shield can be very handy, the rest of the moves are the same ones in the previous set. The EV spread used allows Aegislash to survive Specs Dark Pulse from Modest Hydreigon (in Shield Stance) and the Quiet nature allows him to be slower than most Pokémon taking advantage of his ability.

Most of you have seen VGC players take pot shots at Aegislash with neutral attack to avoid activating the Weakness Policy and subsequently dealing with +2 Flash Cannon or Shadow Ball damage. Basically the point I'm getting at is there will be matches where Aegislash's Weakness Policy will not activate at all and the WP Aegislash user will have to settle with moderate damage from either the 252 or 100 SpA investment. This Life Orb set gives the Aegislash user the necessary damage output to get important 2HKOs and even OHKOs on Mega Kangaskhan (2HKO), most bulky Thundurus (2HKO), Sylveon (damage roll but can potentially KO), Clefable (OHKOs), Eviolite Clefairy (OHKOs), Togekiss (OHKOs), etc. Its worth noting that this Aegislash can straight out beat all most standard redirection users and 2HKOs Amoonguss. Unless for some weird reason the opponent runs special defense investment on any of these four Pokemon, their redirection user will go down to a Life Orb Flash Cannon, and two if its an physcally defensive oriented Amoonguss. Life Orb Aegislash is a fantastic wall-breaker against redirection teams. This EV Spread is a typical Life Orb spread (10N-1) so Aegislash will be taking 1 point less damage if it were using a 252 HP investment. The rest of the EVs are sent to special defense which can help Aegislash take Life Orb Dark Pulses from Hydreigon, and has a 1/8 chance to survive a 44 SpA Modest Charizard Y's Heat Wave. Again this set is is somewhat of an offensive approach to Aegislash considering it will nuke practically anything not resisted to either Shadow Ball or Flash Cannon.
Offensive Calculations for 252+ SpA Life Orb Flash Cannon and Shadow Ball
Potential Teammates:
- Charizard (protect Charizard against Rock Slide)
- Terrakion (protects against some of Aegislash weaknesses
- Most Fairy Types
- Any other pokemon weak to wide ranged moves
Weaknesses:
- Status pokemon (able to shut him down with moves such as Thunder Wave and Taunt)
- Most pokemon with super effective moves can KO Aegislash easily when in Blade Stance
- Pokemon Slower than aegislash can hit him when hes most vulnerable (in blade stance)
- Bulky Support Pokemon
Notable Moves:
- Iron Head - For a physical Aegislash Iron Head can work as your Steel type move, it does a decent amount of damage and also has a chance to flinch
- Aerial Ace - Not very ideal but always hitting no matter what and being a flying type move can be a big help against ...cough...Amoongus..c..cough .
- Shadow Claw - A decent ghost type move that was used alot in VGC 14 also has a high crit ratio
I hope this helped analysis helped
