Scrafty

Stats: 65 HP / 90 Attack / 115 Defence / 45 Special Attack / 115 Special Defence / 58 Speed

Kangaskhan Eater

Scrafty @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Intimidate
Level: 50
EVs: 252 HP / 140 Atk / 116 Def
Impish Nature
- Drain Punch
- Knock Off
- Fake Out
- Protect

This set is optimized to deal with M-Kang, but it works really well against Focus Sash Bisharp (because Rocky Helmet breaks the Sash so that Drain Punch can KO it) and it is able to get a KO on Terrakion after its Close Combat (thanks to the Defence drop + Rocky Helmet damage). Fake Out gives your partner one turn to potentially deal with a threat, while Protect is.. Protect.

140 Atk EVs allow Scrafty to get a 2HKO on 4 HP M-Kang. It is a great way to scout for the opposing M-Kang's bulk (if it has more than 50% HP after a Drain Punch, you can assume it is a bulky M-Kang)

Defensive Calcs:
-1 252 Atk Parental Bond Mega Kangaskhan Double-Edge vs. 252 HP / 116+ Def Scrafty: 74-88 (43 - 51.1%) -- 0.3% chance to 2HKO
-1 252 Atk Parental Bond Mega Kangaskhan Low Kick (60 BP) vs. 252 HP / 116+ Def Scrafty: 52-62 (30.2 - 36%) -- 14% chance to 3HKO
+1 252+ Atk Bisharp Iron Head vs. 252 HP / 116+ Def Scrafty: 81-96 (47 - 55.8%) -- 74.2% chance to 2HKO
-1 252 Atk Terrakion Close Combat vs. 252 HP / 116+ Def Scrafty: 102-120 (59.3 - 69.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252+ SpA Heatran Heat Wave vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Scrafty: 58-70 (33.7 - 40.6%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

Offensive Calcs:
140 Atk Scrafty Drain Punch vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Mega Kangaskhan: 92-110 (50.8 - 60.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
140 Atk Scrafty Drain Punch vs. -1 4 HP / 0 Def Terrakion: 150-176 (89.8 - 105.3%) -- 37.5% chance to OHKO
140 Atk Scrafty Drain Punch vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Heatran: 86-104 (51.4 - 62.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Bulk Up

Scrafty @ Lum Berry
Ability: Intimidate/Moxie
Level: 50
EVs: 252 HP / 76 Atk / 4 Def / 172 SpD / 4 Spe
Careful Nature
- Drain Punch
- Knock Off
- Bulk Up
- Protect

Even if VGC is not the ideal place to set up, Scrafty's great dual Dark/Fighting STABs allows it to deal a lot of damage on nearly anything in the competitive scene. Once Talonflame and Sylveon are gone, Scrafty can be one of the hardest pokemon to take down in the metagame, because of its ability to recover from Drain Punch damage and its immense bulk.

Lum Berry allow Scrafty to take at least one W-o-W, which wouldn't really shut down this set but it's also a good item to have to potentially avoid Scald burns. 252 HP are always mandatory because of its low HP base stat. I've not invested a lot in Attack and Defence because Bulk Up does this job. 172 SpD are needed to take hits on the special side too. We also need Protect because your opponent will most likely try to double target Scrafty to take down it as soon as possible.

Moxie is an option if you want an additional +1 Attack after getting a KO, which is not bad, but Intimidate also support the rest of your team (and allows Scrafty to switch in physical attacks without many problems).

Defensive Calcs:
252+ SpA Ludicolo Scald vs. 252 HP / 176+ SpD Scrafty: 42-49 (24.4 - 28.4%) -- 97.7% chance to 4HKO
252 SpA Mega Charizard Y Overheat vs. 252 HP / 176+ SpD Scrafty in Sun: 136-162 (79 - 94.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252+ Atk Choice Band Talonflame Brave Bird vs. +1 252 HP / 4 Def Scrafty: 146-174 (84.8 - 101.1%) -- 6.3% chance to OHKO

Offensive Calcs:
+1 76 Atk Scrafty Drain Punch vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Mega Kangaskhan: 128-152 (70.7 - 83.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
+1 76 Atk Scrafty Drain Punch vs. 52 HP / 0 Def Heatran: 122-146 (70.5 - 84.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
+1 76 Atk Scrafty Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 220 HP / 172 Def Cresselia: 122-146 (54.7 - 65.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Gangsta

Scrafty @ Assault Vest
Ability: Intimidate
Level: 50
EVs: 252 HP / 20 Atk / 164 Def / 4 SpA / 68 SpD
Relaxed Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Fake Out / Super Fang
- Drain Punch
- Knock Off
- Snarl / Super Fang

This is my favorite set, but it's not 100% mine. This is LightcoreVGC's set (the one that Cybertron is using in his channel) with a little more investment in Attack (20 EVs instead of 4) and less in SpD (68 EVs instead of 84). I've thought about the 0 IVs in Speed so that Scrafty is slower than 0 Spe IVs Aegislash - that means our Knock Off will hit Aegislash when it is in Blade form. It is a good pokemon to have against TR teams and an excellent lead against Politoed + Ludicolo or M-CharY + Venusaur.

Knock Off is meant to remove important items more than to deal chip damage. Snarl is another great support move which isn't meant to deal any damage (because of Scrafty's low SpA base stat) but it is great to shut special attackers to support the team.. anyway Scrafty laughs at any special attack which is not called Hyper Voice. If you don't need another Fake Out or Snarl support in your team, Super Fang is an excellent way to put in KO range dangerous threats, while punishing any switch too. The physical bulk allows Scrafty to take a Close Combat even from a +0 Terrakion.

Defensive Calcs:
252 SpA Mega Charizard Y Heat Wave vs. 252 HP / 68 SpD Assault Vest Scrafty in Sun: 58-69 (33.7 - 40.1%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
252 SpA Life Orb Hydreigon Draco Meteor vs. 252 HP / 68 SpD Assault Vest Scrafty: 78-94 (45.3 - 54.6%) -- 49.6% chance to 2HKO
252 Atk Terrakion Close Combat vs. 252 HP / 164+ Def Scrafty: 144-170 (83.7 - 98.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
-1 252 Atk Parental Bond Mega Kangaskhan Double-Edge vs. 252 HP / 164+ Def Scrafty: 73-87 (42.4 - 50.5%) -- Miniscule chance to 2HKO

Offensive Calcs:
there isn't much to calculate here

Conclusion:

Scrafty hasn't seen the light in the early VGC 15 meta because of the popularity of Sylveon, which is still popular (Top3 in BP usage) but now it's a common threat and every team has at least one way to deal with it. As i said before, without Talonflame and Sylveon around, this pokemon can perform really really well in every match.

Great partners: Aegislash (to deal with Sylveon, Gardevoir and M-Mawile while offering Wide Guard support), special Swampert (to deal with Talonflame and M-Mawile while offering Wide Guard support for Hyper Voice)
Good partners: Rotom-W (it walls Talonflame, but it can't take many Hyper Voices), Heatran (it walls Talonflame and Fairies but it shares a Fighting type weakness)

I really like Lightcore's Assault Vest Scrafty since it can pivot into most threats (bar super effective hits aka Sylveon and Friends). The only difference I made was I added Super Fang instead of Fake Out considering Lightcore's Scrafty isn't going to 2hko or even ohko stuff bar standard Aegislash in blade form. Its a fun attack move to use since you are literally doing about 50% to the target which is good enough for a defensive mon. If Scafty can catch a unsuspecting switch in then I can easily neutralize it with the rest of my three mons. Sometimes I notice that Super Fang will not activate Pokemon with Sitrus Berry which can ensure me the hassle of whittling away their HP for a knock the next few turns.

Yeah i like Super Fang, this is a good idea i'm going to add as a suggestion for this set.

Anyway i've just found out the reason why i put 20 EVs in Atk:

20 Atk Scrafty Drain Punch vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Mega Kangaskhan: 84-98 (46.4 - 54.1%) -- 47.3% chance to 2HKO
12 Atk Scrafty Drain Punch vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Mega Kangaskhan: 80-96 (44.1 - 53%) -- 18% chance to 2HKO
4 Atk Scrafty Drain Punch vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Mega Kangaskhan: 80-96 (44.1 - 53%) -- 18% chance to 2HKO

It's a strange damage roll, i know. A 47,3% chance is way better than a 18% and i wanted to exploit this.
