Team building - Kataklyst - Apr 10, 2016 Hey guys I really want to get into competetive pokemon battling but I kind of suck at building a good team. So if anyone could help me I'd greatly appreciate it. Here are some pokemon I would prefer on my team but obviosly I can't have them all. Milotic Metagross Charizard Hydreigon Lucario Banette Dratini Froslass Cherrim Porygon-Z Furfrou Mewtwo Greninja Thanks RE: Team building - Platinum2183 - Apr 10, 2016 What are you planning to play in? RE: Team building - Kataklyst - Apr 10, 2016 I don't really know. I don't really know much about the different "things" RE: Team building - Platinum2183 - Apr 10, 2016 http://www.smogon.com/dex/xy/formats/ look at some of the formats and mons, and see what you like the most RE: Team building - Kataklyst - Apr 10, 2016 ok probably battle spot doubles but I would like to play in oras not xy but I could transfer my pokemon to that game. RE: Team building - Aqwell - Apr 11, 2016 I use Milotic a lot in my team and I have liked it so far. The set I'm using is: Milotic @ Leftovers Ability: Competitive EV's: 252 HP / 28 Def / 160 SpA / 64 SpD / 4 Spe Bold nature - Scald - Ice Beam - Mirror Coat - Recover Of course there are plenty of other options. I can help you get a good IV Bold of Modest Feebas if you need. RE: Team building - Total-Insanity - Apr 11, 2016 @Kataklyst I would highly recommend going onto the Pokemon Showdown website if you are thinking about competitive battling, they cover near enough every aspect of battling and not to mention very active chat rooms. I have been on there for near enough 5 years now. The way I usually find a good team is by slapping a bunch of Pokemon together from the same tier, it's a bit of hit and miss. Just work on the team a bit, discover its weaknesses and improve it until eventually it shapes into a great team. If you really are serious about competitive battling then expect to be constantly changing your teams, as the strategies change all the time. Hope this helps. RE: Team building - Kataklyst - Apr 11, 2016 Awesome thx @Aqwell and @Total-Insanity I'll definitly try your two recomendations and I'm good on the IV feebas I can get that myself but thanks anyways. RE: Team building - Marcusube - Apr 14, 2016 I can tell you right now that if you plan to play Battle Spot Doubles, Milotic, Metagross, Charizard, Hydreigon, Lucario and Greninja are very good options to start out with. It is difficult to simply make a team for you seeing as how you are new to the metagame so I would suggest taking time out of your schedule to practice playing the format on either Showdown or ORAS using random teams or teams suggested by forum users. Throw a team together, practice with it and come back with information in terms of your wins, the Pokemon you liked using, Pokemon you may want to use, etc. Here's a sample team if you need a jump start |
