I don't run Protect seeing as how I usually bring Medicham in the back and set up a form of speed control to get it in safely. As for Talonflame, I have enough checks to it. Rock Slide has done a lot for me in the matches I've played especially against my Charizard match ups.
I agree with the Flamethrower argument. I've only missed Fire Blast once and it was in a showdown tournament. Otherwise it has hit its mark everytime.
Yeah I got rekt by the surprise double genie lead with the Grass Knot Thundurus lol
I understand the BO3 argument but this is more of a laddering team, not really a tournament team. I do like Heat Wave over HP Ice because one of my issues that I've had with past teams was not having spread moves but I will consider it
