Cofagrigus and Umbreon are a nasty defensive core, which covers each other near flawlessly. The only weakness being Fairy, is easily remedied by pairing them with any Poison type (which is also a good secondary Fighting check). Although Cofagrigus is in RU, when paired with Umbreon these two become excessively threatening, being able to wall out each other's weaknesses and threats with relative ease. Protect/Wish Umbreon is capable of defeating much of UU's special attacking metagame due to being immune to Psyshock, and Umbreon is capable of burning through an opponants' Focus Blasts, and Superpowers from the likes of Hydreigon and Nidoking, and keeps the team healthy and free of status thanks to heal bell support, the key to keeping Cofagrigus a threat. Cofagrigus works as a great physical wall, protecting umbreon from all physical Bug and Fighting moves, and can contend with physical Fighting types in the tier such as Conkeldur. Spreading Mummy to any contact move users, Cofagrigus serves as an annoyance, setting up hazards, removing Guts and Moxie from physical sweepers, preventing set up sweeping with Haze, and draining health from switch ins. Cofagrigus' Ghost typing with Toxic Spikes, or Will-O-Wisp even manages to deter Magic Bounce users such as Espeon. While they might not make it through an entire game, together they can often disrupt opposing teams by wearing them down, placing timers on grounded Pokemon with toxic spikes, forcing opponants to deal with hazards, and chipping away precious HP leaving your sweepers little to no resistance.
