Sounds like there's a bit of overlap between the pokémon that we use to Shiny hunt. Great minds think alike, such and such. It's unfortunate that you don't like Masuda method hunting, it's easily my favorite method. However, you'll get no argument from me about DexNav hunting. Ugh. I only did it because it was the new and exciting way of Shiny hunting. I have horrible memories of trying to inch the circle pad, doing it too hard, scaring the pokémon, and panicking that I just lost a Shiny.
I like S.O.S. chaining, it's a unique way of hunting. It's a little too AFK for my taste, but it's good for a more casual hunt. I've found a Shiny Pikipek, Rockruff, Exeggcute, Mudbray, Hakamo-o, Dratini, Alolan Meowth, and Goldeen by using the method. Shiny Alolan Persian is probably my favorite, but that's a post for a different day.
Say, Corrosion, do you have a Shiny hunting Smeargle?
