Espeon from Pokemon XD was amazing as starter. Also I became a huge fan of Espeon after using it in competitive XY and seeing it in action in the Battle Tower in the anime



Swampert been the best for ages. Literally the most reliable one in the franchise for its decent movepool, defenses and typing



Mostly anime influences here. Ash's Sceptile was so cool (especially when it was a Grovyle). Its fast, has a good design for its Mega Evolution and is the first Grass type ever made intended for more offensive than defensive/supportive roles in competitive.
