Help me make a VGC Gravity Trick Room team?
#1
So I have seen Trick room Teams I have seen Weather teams but I have never seen a Gravity VGC team. From what I understand gravity makes it so pokemon like Levitate can get hit by Ground moves and also increase the % of accuracy of low accuracy moves. Can anyone help me make a team that can benifit from Gravity? Right now I am kinda looking into Sableye to set up with prankster Gravity then mega evolve into a trick room set up by another pokemon. So if someone can help me with building this team it would be really Apreciated.

Cool Unique idea but i dont really think gravity would be all that useful and plus Trick Room it just adds another thing you have to try to set up when you could just deal damage, also a taunter can shut you down. Also alot of pokemon that fly or have levitate wont take alot of damage from ground type attack, such as Hydreigon, Landorus, and Cresselia.

Im not saying dont try it im just saying its gonna be difficult to use Gravity to your fullest potential Smile

I can use Slowking/Slowbro with Oblivious which can't get taunted.

I've got two ideas for your team

Cofagrigus as the trick room setter it has pretty good defenses. It can learn nasty plot to help it's special attack stat and will-o-wisp to cripple opponent's attack stat

Gardevoir and a strong ground type to spam earthquakes with no self inflicted damage

Don't forget that Gravity decreases evasiveness on all Pokemon, effectively granting increased accuracy to all attacks. Capitalize on this by using the high-power, low-accuracy moves you'd never think of using ordinarily. For example (and I hate myself for even proposing an idea for this Pokemon), how about a Gravity-specialist Garchomp? STAB Earthquake naturally, but also benefits from a more accurate Fire Blast, and could now feasibly use Dragon Rush as a strong STAB move with a flinch chance. Wrap the set up with something like Stone Edge or Iron Tail for Fairies.

Gravity Trick Room is a great idea and Sableye is an effective setter. What you could do is run a bulky Sableye with BOTH Gravity and Trick Room and a Fake Out or Follow Me/Rage Powder user. Since when Sableye mega evolves its Prankster ability still has the effect on the first turn, you can guarantee that you'll get up Gravity without getting Taunted since Mega Sableye bounces back all statuses.

Amoonguss has good synergy with Sableye to redirect a few common attacks plus it can knock a Pokemon asleep.

As for Gravity Room sweepers, since Gravity drops the evasion of all Pokemon by two stages, you can implement some fierce attackers like Ampharos, Heatran, AV Landorus-T, Machamp, Heracross, and basically everything that has either low accuracy strong hitting moves or Ground moves.

Pokemon with the Telepathy ability will come in handy if you plan to spread Earthquake and dominate your opponents.

The only issue is achieving synergy with Gravity and Trick Room. Since this requires a lot of setting up, it may cost you some offensive options. Most Pokemon that thrive in Gravity are in speed tiers that take better advantage of Tailwind than Trick Room.

That's really all I can say. I like where you're going with this; all the best with making your idea VGC viable :D

So tailwind instead of Trickroom? Ok I will try that out. So so far I am looking at Sableye ((Mega)) Amoongus, Garchomp and some pokemon with Telepathy. I might also put Talonflame for that priority tailwind. I can also look at Landorus with choice scarf.if I am using Tailwind instead of Trick room. Anything else that can benifit in this team?

Be mindful of anything vulnerable to EQ after Gravity is activated. This means ruling out guys that would be weak to Ground if Flying typing, Levitate, or Air Balloon were negated by Gravity; Talonflame, Rotom-Wash, Gengar, Crobat, Mega Charizard Y, (Mega) Aerodactyl, Skarmory, Weezing, Thundurus, Zapdos, and so on.
