Lets be honest, Mega Beedrill has paper defenses from both sides and cannot afford to run a bulkier spread. I know people suggest either fell stinger or sword dance to increase it already high attack stats but chances are Beedrill will faint in the process if it follows this path. That said lets go on to the moveset. Beedrill works well as a u-turn pokemon as it does massive to anything while gaining momentum for its team. That's probably why its such an offensive threat in singles. Poison jab is your secondary stab to nuke any fairy/grass type will leave a considerable amount of damage to neutral types. Now drill run is an important coverage moves that allows Beedrill the opportunity to hit any steel, fire, or rock type super-effectively but try not to spam this too much. Knock off on the other hand gives Beedrill utility by removing any items and can play a hit-and-run style with knock off/u-turn. Protect is there for two reasons: to guarantee a turn for mega evolution and to stall out a bit of poison damage if Beedrill happens to get a poison with poison jab. That's pretty much all I can say about Beedrill since this mega works well in singles but not for doubles.


Steelix @ Steelixite
Ability: Sturdy/Sand Force
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 SpD
Brave Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Earthquake
- Rock Slide
- Gyro Ball
- Protect/Stealth Rock

This is an offensive take on Mega Steelix that is suited for doubles and maybe singles. Earthquake and gyro ball are the main stab options as it allows Mega Steelix to hit relatively hard especially if it has the sand up. Rock slide is there just to hit both pokemon on either side of the field while giving an opportunity to flinch if your opponent is slower or Mega Steelix is in trick room. Alternatively you can run stone edge if you are using Steeix for singles or doubles just to get past wide guard users. The last move is up to the format as protect is useful in doubles while stealth rock is the main entry hazard of choice for singles.

M-Beedrill is a very frail Pokemon, so you want to capitalize on those monstrous attack and speed stats in every way possible along with its ability, Adaptability, which makes STAB moves do 200% instead of 150% damage. U-Turn is really to get some damage in on your opponent or getting switch in priority (giving your other Pokemon a safe switch in) after OHKOing an opponent. Poison Jab is just for another STAB + the chance to poison the opponent may prove to be a game changer. Protect is for evading attacks(of course) but also to receive the change in speed stats as when you mega evolve, your speed changes to the mega's speed stat on the following turn. Knock off is really just for item removal and gives M-Beedrill a super effective hit against ghost types, since they do resist its stab.

Steelix @ Steelixite
Ability : Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP, 4 Atk, 252 SpDef
Adamant Nature

-Stealth Rock
-Sandstorm
-Earthquake
-Iron Head/Stone Edge/Rock Slide

This move set really makes Steelix put a dent in opponents strategies. Before Mega Evolving, you have access to normal Steelix's Sturdy ability which most of the time guarantees that you will live with at least 1 HP. Stealth Rock is chosen just because it is the best entry hazard in the game for breaking focus sashes or for trimming down those flying, fire and ice types *cough* talonflame *cough*. Sandstorm is really useful as not only does it activate M-Steelix's ability but it also disrupts other weather teams and takes away 1/16th of the opponents health each turn, provided that they aren't steel, rock or ground type or have the abilities Sand Rush, Sand Force or Sand Veil. Earthquake is great for it is Steelix's strongest, most effective STAB move. Iron Head for another STAB or if you feel that flying types or Pokemon with levitate who resists steel attacks will be a problem, throw in Rock Slide or Stone Edge for coverage.
