Worlds 2017 question

Hey guys, it turns out that Worlds 2017 is going to be 30 minutes away from where I live, so I was wondering if anyone is allowed to compete? If so, what do I have to do to compete in the tournament? If I'm unable to, am I allowed to attend the event without participating?

To be a player at worlds you have to have an invitation. Only the best players are invited and are chosen pretty much by winning smaller regional events. Soooooo win various regionals, and some minor premier events.
