[VGC] VGC 2015 WORLDS RECAP: Why "Battle Spot" Won Worlds
#10
First of all, great work, I liked your analysis a lot Smile
By the way, I was astonished by the complete absence of Competitive Milotic among 2015 worlds teams with the CHALK core in mind.
In my opinion, Milotic is a great japanese meta counter.
With a maranga or kee berry and a defensive build it's just a fearsome monstrosity that loves eating enemy attacks intimidates to boost its own stats!
Aside from obliterating Lando-T and Megamence, Competitive-boosted milotic can 2HKO Amoonguss with ice beam, between other things.
A predicted heat wave from Heatran lets Maranga Berry equipped Milotic to proc while receiving a tiny amount of damage, and reach a great special defense level that allows it to withstand electric type attacks from the common Thundurus, or the more rare, and usually defensive Zapdos, and then recover back and attack with relative freedom.
The only thing Milotic really fears are tough physical attackers, like 252 atk Mega-Kangaskhan Return or Double Edge, but most kangas today are bulky and can be scalded for a burn (Facade is pretty uncommon though).
Some japanese players at BS took this in mind not too long after the world championships, and started mixing the CHALK core with variations as crazy as physical mega venusaur!!!! o_o
This scenario full of complexity and continued evolution of the game makes me play it even more!
Regards from Chile for everyone :D
